Welcome to the Saraiki Wiktionary[لکھو]

Hello Mubasher, and welcome to the Saraiki Wiktionary! Congratulations on all the great work you and your co-contributors have done to make this project a reality! All pages have now been imported from the Incubator, and the wiki is ready to be edited.

Since this is a brand new wiki, there are a few things that are not working correctly like they should yet. These are the things I'm aware of:

  • Stats on Special:Statistics (and, by extension, from magic words like {{NUMBEROFARTICLES}}) don't work correctly (they all say 0).
  • The visual editor is not yet fully available. You can create new pages with it, but if you try to edit existing pages it might show a blank page instead.

These problems are normally solved within 2 weeks (and usually quicker), but if anything lasts longer than that, or if you notice any other problems, please feel free to ask me, and I will help figure out what to do.

Oh, one thing I noticed: For many of the entries, you have signed them. Please don't do that – signatures are meant for discussion pages only (like this one), and should not be in the main namespaces of a wiki. If someone wants to know who created an entry, they can use the history tab on the page in order to look up who created and edited it. If you think it is ok, I can remove the existing signatures using my bot. Jon Harald Søby (تبادلۂ خیال) ١٧:٢٨, ١٨ دسمبر ٢٠٢٠ (PKT)Reply[reply]

How we will see unregistered users[لکھو]

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.

We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.

Thank you. /Johan (WMF)
